Victor Borge: Family

Borge was a famous link in a long chain of musically-talented people in his lineage. His mother was not only a musician, but was one from the age of two, when her parents had her begin piano lessons. His father was a violinist in the Royal Danish Orchestra.

Borge began taking lessons, as his mother had, at the age of two.

With his first wife, Elise, he fathered Robert Borge and Janet Crowle; with his second wife, Sarabel, Sanna Feirstein, Victor Bernhard (Vebe) Jr., and Frederikke (Rikke) Borge. At least one of his children inherited the genetic musicality--Robert occasionally performed with him onstage.

At the time of his death in 2000, Borge left behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
